Tambaram Music Club - 19th Anniversary Celebration - July 2014

 

19 years have passed since Tambaram Music Club was started with the vision of spreading and strengthening the art of Carnatic music in a suburb called Tambaram. The Sabha celebrated its 19th Anniversary on 20th of July 2014. 

 

The Chief Guest for the function Shri. T.K.M.Chinnayya (Minister of Animal Husbandry, Govt. of Tamil Nadu) felt honored for being a part of the function amidst his busy schedule. He gave his best wishes to the Sabha. Guests of honor Shri.M.Karikalan (Chariman, Tambaram Municipality) and Shri.k.Narayana Rao(Secretary, SitaDevi Garodia School), were happy to see such a divine thing happening in Tambaram and appreciated the noble service done by Shri.S.Bashyam and Smt.Choodamani Bashyam. Bombay Sisters,Smt.C.Saroja and Smt.C.Lalitha who inaugurated the function by lighting the kuthuvilakku, were happy to be a part of all the functions of the Sabha and blessed the youngsters to emerge as great musicians in the future. The function ended with the wonderful vocal concert by Padma Bhushan Prof.Dr.T.V.Gopalakrishnan accompanied by S.Varadarajan on the Violin and Trivandrum,S.Balaji on the Mridangam. 

 

Shri.T.V.Gopalakrishnan is conferred with the title "Sangeetha Kalanidhi" this year and was happy to perform at Tambaram Music Club on the day of announcement of the Award.

TNS Krishna's Concert

On 27.04.2014 Madurai TNS Krishna Sang in our Sabha accompanied by Dr.Kandadevi Vijayaragavan on the Violin and Trichur C Narendran on the Mridangam. Madurai TNS.Krishna rendered Shankarabaranam as the main for the concert beautifully for which the accompaniments was very much supporting and beautiful.It was the First concert for Shri.Kandadevi Vijayaragavan after receiving his Doctorate for which he was honored by our Sabha Secretary Shri Nagai S.Bashyam.

167th Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival

On 23.02.2014 Sunday 167th Thyagaraja Aradhana was celebrated in our Sabha in a great manner with the blessings of  Shri Thyagaraja Swamigal.

This year we honored Padmabhushan Dr.T.V.Gopalakrishnan Sir.

Many great Vidhwans like TVG sir,Bombay sisters,Carnatica Brothers and other eminent Vidhwans sang the Pancha rathna krithis.

TVG Sir sang beautiful compositions of Shri Thyagaraja Swamigal and he also gave explanation for the krithis and the choice of selection of these krithis was great.

About 40 students of Bashyam Sir sang Tyagaraja krithis.

Followed by Girija venkatramani's concert.

Sriranjani Santhanagopalan rendered beautiful krithis of Thyagaraja Swami.

Carnatica brothers sang for about two hours and thus the celebration came to an end with Anjaneyar Utsavam.
