Review of 14th Anniversary celebration
The 14th anniversary of our sabha was celebrated in a grand manner with the blessings of Almighty and the support of the music legends and ofcourse the rasikas.
A group, consisting of more than 50 disciples of Shri.S.Bashyam, gave a small performance before the anniversary function started, which also added fragrance to the celebration. Its really a difficult job to co-ordinate 50 budding voices and bring out a perfectly uniform show. This makes people wonder how Mr.Bashyam is managing to do this great job.
Shri K.Vaidhyanathn, Editor Dhinamani, said:
In olden days, only people belonging to the forward sectors were much exposed to the art of classical music.. But now-a-days each and every soul has the opportunity to rejoice the classic art. He also added about the various significance of music in the field of medicine. Amidst the famous sabhas in the city, sabhas in places like Tambaram(outskirts) and especially TMC has been doing a wonderful job in developing and spreading the art. In addition to these, Shri.S.Bashyam & Smt.Choodamani Bashyam are totally devoted in bringing out the hidden talents in many many young children and they richly deserve a great appreciation.
He insisted on all sabhas conducting classes for classical music which removes the incompleteness of their service and imparts the traditional art to various youngsters.
Dr.N.Ramani said:
It is not easy to run a sabha for 14 years, that too in a sub-urban area like Tambaram. He told about the capability of Shri.S.Bashyam for arranging a concert, from his childhood days and how well he manages the sabha along with the able support of his wife Smt. Choodamani Bashyam. He added that the marriage of Bashyam – Choodamani is a boon to the carnatic music field itself. And he blessed the sabha committee for a greater success in the forthcoming years.
Shri. P.Ramabadhran, founder-Music circle- Mumbai & founder- SAFE-Chennai, also addressed the gathering by telling out the importance of the art and the tough & skilled work needed to run a sabha. He praised the couple for rendering this service to Tambaram rasikas.
Shri K.Keerthivasan(Rtd. Regional Manager, Central Bank of India), President-TMC, spoke about the sabha's effective functioning and the various activities taking place. He is a constant supporter & well-wisher of our sabha which makes us stronger.
Shri.T.V.Sankaranarayan who is giving a concert on the anniversary evening, every year gave a wonderful concert this year also and is supposed to give his support in future also.
Thanks to the almighty & all well-wishers for making it a grand success!!!
