Truly blessed by Saint Thyagaraja...!!!

TMC's thyagaraja  aaradhana celebration went on very well. Maharajapuram Sri.Ramachandran was felicitated by Sri.S.Bashyam(Secretary -TMC). This was followed by the rendition of pancharatha krithis by senior artists like Dr.N.Ramani, Prof.T.R.Subramanian, Sri.T.K.Govinda Rao, Bombay Sisters - C.Saroja & C.Lalitha, Geetha Rajasekhar, Guruvaayur Sri.Dorai, Maadirimangalam Sri.Swaminathan, Sirgaazhi Sri.Jayaraman & many others. 

Annadhanam was arranged to all the visitors. TMC takes pleasure in thanking the people who sponsored for it.

Sri. C.A.Rajasekhar & his 30 disciples presented a violin concert which was a usual program during our uthsavam.

Few changes were to be made in the agenda due to various reasons. Sri.T.V.Ramprasath presented an interesting thematic concert - "Ramanayana in  the eyes of Thyagaraja". The audience enjoyed the rare krithis rendered by him.

Master T.Kalaimagan(grandson of 'Villisai Vendhar' Subbu Aarumugam) also presented a pleasing concert for an hour.

Master.M.Balamurali Krishna also gave a wonderful one hour concert. The grand finale was marked by Dr.N.Ramani by his flute concert. He was accompanied by Sri.S.D.Sridhar(Violin), Guruvayur Sri. Dorai(Mridangam) & Sri.Prasanna(Ghatam).

Aanjaneyar uthsavam took place to end the program well.

Thanks to all the artists & well-wishers for making the aaradhana a grand success.......!!!!

9.30 a.m.  - Pancharathna Krithis rendition by various eminent artists. This will be followed by rendition of Thyagaraja's krithis by artists & students.

1.00 - 2.30 p.m. - C.A.Rajasekhar & his students , Master Sumesh Narayanan(Mridangam).

2.30 - 3.30 p.m. - Master T.Kalaimagan & party.

3.30 - 5.00 p.m. - Smt.Bhooshani Kalyanaraman & party.

5.00 - 7.00 p.m. - Maharajapuram Sri.S.Ramachandran(Vocal), Sri.M.R.Gopinath(Violin), Guruvaayur Sri. Durai(Mridangam), Sri.Prasanna(Ghatam).

7.00 - 9.00 p.m. - Dr.N.Ramani(Flute), Sri.S.Varadharajan(Violin), Guruvaayur Sri.Durai(Mridangam), Sri.Prasanna(Ghatam).

9.00 p.m. - Aanjaneyar Uthsavam.

New Year Spl Program...!!

TMC wishes all rasikas & well-wishers "A Happy & Prosperous New Year". This month we have arranged for a dance drama program - "Panduranga Leela" by Kadalur Gopi Bagavathar & Party on 26.01.09, Monday, 5.00p.m.

Review of the December Special Program : Kaaladi mudhal Kaanchi varai.

We, at TMC had organised a Special program on 25th of December. The first half of the program featured various youngsters showing their talents in Carnatic Music by singing 2 or 3 krithis. The latter half started with a prayer on Maha Periyava by Girija & Pushya(Disciples of Shri.S.Bashyam), followed by the villupaatu by Kalaimamani villisai vendhar Shri.Subbu Aarumugam & Party . It was an excellent discourse on life of Kanchi Maha Swami Shri Chandrasekarendhra Saraswathi. The audience were really awestruck by the performance. 

We thank all supporters & well-wishers of the sabha and expect the same support in future also.

 

"Kanchi mudhal Kaaladi varai"

Tambaram Music Club has arranged for a Margazhi Spl. Program on 25^th December 2008 – “Kaanchi mudhal kaaladi varai” by Villisai Vendhar Kalaimamani Kavingyar Subbu Aarumugam.
